Emma Reynolds

Emma was elected as the Member of Parliament for Wolverhampton North East in May 2010. In October 2013, she was promoted by Labour Leader Ed Miliband and appointed as the Shadow Housing Minister attending Shadow Cabinet. Previously, Emma served as Shadow Europe Minister from 2011 – 2013.

Emma is a proud Wulfrunian. She attended local schools before graduating at Oxford University in Philosophy, Politics and Economics.

Prior to becoming an MP, Emma helped to set up a small business which supported British companies in understanding and influencing EU laws. She then went on to work for the Party of European Socialists in Brussels as an adviser to Robin Cook. Emma was later appointed as political advisor to Geoff Hoon in his role as Europe Minister and then Chief Whip.

Since her election, Emma has spoken in Parliament on subjects as diverse as the economy, human trafficking, youth unemployment and cuts to police numbers.

Emma re-established the All Party Parliamentary Group (APPG) on Aerospace, a vital local industry in Wolverhampton, and was subsequently elected chair. She is also Secretary of the APPG for British Sikhs and the APPG on Human Trafficking.

Emma is a keen linguist and speaks fluent French and Spanish and some basic Italian. She enjoys running, tennis and swimming as well as following her football team Wolverhampton Wanderers.
