Tom Chance is the Green Party’s housing spokesperson, and candidate for Lewisham West and Penge. He was evicted from the first flat he moved into in London, along with his flatmates, for complaining about the boiler, and has campaigned for radical changes to housing policy ever since.
Tom has worked on sustainable construction, the high cost of housing and support for co-operative housing models for eight years. He currently heads up the team supporting the Green Party Members of the London Assembly. Having faced evictions, cold homes and crippling house prices, he has a personal as well as political interest in radically changing UK housing policy. He joined the Green Party after lobbying councillors about decentralised energy, determined to get more politicians with a Green point of view into positions of power.
